Welcome to Second Grade

• The education of your child takes teamwork.

Attendance

• Child must be present every day, unless illness
  occurs.
• If absent more than one day, call the school
  office and schedule a time to pick up missed
  assignments.
• A note must accompany child when he/she returns
  to school.
• Be on time. School begins at 800.
• Three tardies equal one absence.

Homework

• Homework will be given Monday through Thursday.
• Homework will be written by your child in his/her
  agenda.
• Agenda brought to school daily.
• Parents should sign agenda daily.
• Homework should take no more than 30 minutes to
  an hour.
• Read every night.

Conduct

• Weekly conduct will be written in red on Monday
  in the agenda for the previous week.
• Daily conduct grades will be written in the
  agenda.
• Conduct grades are based on behavior in the
  classroom, hallway, cafeteria, and in related
  arts classes.
• Homework and classroom assignments not turned in
  on time, will result in points taken off conduct.
• Misconduct and not doing work will result in time
  off recess.

Rules

• Use inside voice.
• Work quietly without disturbing others.
• Keep your work and workplace clean.
• No talking in the hallway.
• Follow directions the first time.
• Respect your teachers and classmates.

Teacher Expectations

• I challenge each child to do his/her best to
  learn as much as possible in the 180 days that we
  work together.
• Come each day rested and ready to work.
• Have the supplies that you need.
• Remember that you are special and unique.

Communication

• Feel free to contact me by writing a note in the
  agenda or call the school office at 874-1917 and
  leave a message.
• Schedule a conference.
• Open-door policy. Come in anytime, but be
  prepared to help.

Consequences

• 1st Warning given
• 2nd 5 points off conduct, 5 minutes off recess
• 3rd 10 points off conduct, 10 minutes off
  recess
• 4th 15 points off conduct, 15 minutes off
  recess. Student teacher conference
• 5th Telephone call to parents, isolation in
  classroom, behavior plan discussed.
