However, He and Alexander Hamilton are the only
two figures on modern American paper currency
that were not presidents.
4George Washington
George Washington was the first president of the
United States. He is well known for many reasons.
5Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln was the 16th President and was known
mostly for his command of the country during the
civil war.
6Franklin Roosevelt
Roosevelt was the 32nd president. He was known
for his prowess in combating the Great Depression.
7Harry Truman
As the 33rd president of the USA, Truman was
known as the president who used the Atomic Bomb
against Japan.
8George Vs. King George
Washington also commanded the Revolutionary War
against the British. He established the precedent
of a two term limit to all presidents. (However,
this did not become law until the 20th
century.) He was also famous for the Legend that
he could not tell a lie, even when he cut down
his fathers cherry tree. Finally, he is featured
on the one dollar bill.

- Lincoln is often credited with freeing the
African American slaves by means of the Civil
War. - He is also known for his famous speeches, such as
the Emancipation Proclamation. - The Myth that was credited to him was one of
walking 5 miles in the snow to return a nickel
that a storekeeper gave him accidentally.
10Fighting the Japanese and Germans
- FDR was also known for being a strong president
in the time of World War II. - He created a program that softened the pressure
of the Great Depression called the New Deal. - He was also unable to use his legs.
11Truman Vs. Soviets
- Truman was known for being President at the
beginning of the Cold War. - He was seen as soft spoken, until nuclear weapons
were developed. - He is the president that the Chicago Daily
Tribune claimed lost his reelection to Dewey,
when he actually won.
