Title: A Thankful Heart
1A Thankful Heart
2Rejoice always pray without ceasing in
everything give thanks for this is Gods will
for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians
516-18 NAS)
3Thankfulness protects us from bitterness and
discouragement.
4But he himself went a days journey into the
wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper
tree and he requested for himself that he might
die, and said, "It is enough now, O LORD, take
my life, for I am not better than my fathers.
(1 Kings 194 NAS)
5Thankfulness protects us from arrogance and
self-satisfaction.
6I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has
strengthened me, because He considered me
faithful, putting me into service (1 Timothy 112
NAS)
7Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift
is from above, coming down from the Father of
lights, with whom there is no variation, or
shifting shadow. (James 117 NAS)
8Thankfulness helps us fulfill our ministry.
9One day Peter and John were going up to the
temple at the time of prayerat three in the
afternoon. Now a man crippled from birth was
being carried to the temple gate called
Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from
those going into the temple courts.
10When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he
asked them for money. Peter looked straight at
him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!"
So the man gave them his attention, expecting to
get something from them. Then Peter said, "Silver
or gold I do not have, but what I have I give
you. (Acts 31-6a NIV)
