Young Life

• Born January 24th,76 AD. (historians dont
  think his birthplace is right)
• Father died when Hadrian was 10 yrs old. His
  uncle, Trajan, welcomed him and adopted him.
• When young child, spent most of his time
  counting moneyso Trajan sent him to the army and
  was made officer of Germany as Trajans father
  had done to him.

First Ocupations

• In the 1st Dacian War, Hadrian served as a
  officer.
• In the 2nd Dacian War was made commander of First
  Legion Minervia
• In AD 106 he went back to Rome and was praetor
• Year later made governor of Lower Pannonia and
  consul in Ad 108
• In AD 114 he was Governor of the (important)
  military
• On August 8th AD 117 Trajan died, so Hadrian took
  over in 117 AD..

Famous For!

• In AD 134 Hadrian noticed a problem in the
  territories ordered construction of the great
  barrier that runs across northern England,
  Hadrians Wall
• Many places benefited (because it forms around
  their territory) Hadrians Wall

Downfall Death

• AD 136 Hadrian was 60 yrs old and had sought
  an heir.
• Hadrian adopted Lucius Ceionius Commodus LCC
  died on Jan. 1, 138 AD (because of bad health.)
• Hadrian left Government to Antoninus Pius ,dying
  after in Bainane on July AD 138 (He died an
  unpopular man)

Personal Info

• Hadrian married Vivia Sadina in 100 AD.
• Hadrian did not treat her with respect there was
  rumors that he even tried to poison her.

Hard-working Man

• Hadrian worked really hard in his ruling period
  even if it wasnt work for the good, and even if
  his personal life wasnt too pleasant.
• Hadrian built a great wall that help many people
• Should be known for efforts to visit the
  imperial territories personally (always went to
  things personally to see for himself)
