How do things work in High School?
  • There are 2 semesters each school year
  • Semester 1 (Sept. Jan.) Semester 2
    (Feb. June)
  • Students take 8 courses over two semesters
  • Classes are 75 minutes
  • Counselling Services include academic and
    personal counselling, career
    guidance and youth support services
  • Special services include Learning Centre,
  • ESL, Skill Development etc

Link Crew
  • Senior Students partner with small groups of
    Grade 9s for support, integration and
    mentor-like activities.

Link Crew at Terry Fox
  • What is Link Crew?
  • Orientation program to train Senior Students
    (grade 11/12) to become leaders and mentors
  • These students, the LINK LEADERS, introduce the
    new grade 9 students to the school on the first
    day through an Orientation Assembly
  • Allows grade 9s to make a connection with a
    senior student who provides support throughout
    the school year
  • The leaders are reconnected with their Crew of
    grade nines during school dances, sports events,
    hot dog sales, assemblies and as tutors in
    classes etc.

  • 1. Required 48 credits
  • Language Arts 10, 11, 12 (English)
    12 credits
  • Social Studies 10

  • Mathematics 10

  • 32 in Grade 11 ( 8 courses x 4 credits )
  • 28 in Grade 12 ( 7 courses x 4 credits )
  • 4 credits for the new Transition Plan
