• Grades 1 -8 546 students
• Computer Lab with 29 computers students are
  scheduled once a week during one of their regular
  classroom subjects
• Two classroom computers
• Laptop cart with 30 laptops for grades 7 8
• Each grade level from 3 8 has a SMART Board

State Travel Brochure

• Each student assigned a state to research
• Statement that include a geographic location
• 2 places of interest (one had to be historical),
  written in paragraph form
• State nickname
• 5 interesting facts,
• Flag
• 3 adjectives to describe the state
• Had to create a teaser to entice you to visit

Word Poster of Famous Person

• Researched information about an historical figure
• Included date and place of birth, date of death
• Contributions
• Picture of person
• Picture or symbol representing something about
  the person

Ohio ABC Book

• Each student assigned a letter of the alphabet
  and writes a sentence to go with the letter
• Must use some fact about Ohio
• Illustrates the letter in Paint and insert into
  Word document
• State Symbols book using pictures of symbols
  from the Internet

• Create a slide to show each one of the primary
  state symbols bird, flower, flag, seal, tree,
  animal, motto
• Had to write a complete sentence about each
  symbols
• Used www.50states.com web site

Presidents Facts

• Had to research the following
• Early life
• Previous offices/jobs held
• Important world event while in office
• His contribution while in office
• Two interesting facts
• 2-3 class periods for research and creation of
  PowerPoint

Geography Terms Flip Book

• Students studied several geography terms
• Picked 6 terms to include in their book
• Found a picture of each term and inserted in a
  slide
• Next slide had the name of the term
• Printed in handout form and stapled together as a
  book

• Jeopardy States and Capitals
• Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Chapter Summaries

• Students worked in groups to create a chapter
  summary to share with the class
• Included important people, places, events and
  vocabulary
• Presented to class and had to create 2 questions
  about the chapter
• All the questions together, became the test

Recording Voice in a Project

• Create the slide first, adding text and picture
• On the Insert menu, select Movies and Sounds,
  then Record Sound
• Make sure you have a microphone connected best
  to record in a quiet place
• Have the student read the text then click Stop
  when finished
• A sound icon appears on the slide you can then
  set it to play when the slide is opened
