Spelling

• I will be integrating a word study program with
  the Sitton Spelling Program. Each spelling unit
  will include
• 5 Core Words and 5-10 other words that reflect a
  specific spelling pattern. (i.e. long I)
• Word Preview and Shopping List
• Spelling Sentences (used for assessment at the
  end of each unit)
• Daily skill development (word sorts, apple
  activities, frequent spelling pattern
  activities, homophones, etc.)
• Forms of assessment (word tests, sentence
  dictations, spelling in writing, etc.)
• Words to Learn (words that are missed on spelling
  tests or frequently in daily writing)
• Practice Activities (at the beginning of each
  unit, students will bring home a practice list)
