In my synthesis of over 500,000 studies, I have
found that it is excellence in teachers, not just
the teachers themselves, that makes the greatest
difference to student achievement

These three most effectively separated expert
from experienced teachers. Where all 16
dimensions can successfully classify 84 of the
teachers correctly, these three alone could
classify 80, so are probably sufficient to
highlight the major differences between expert
