Introduction

• Hi, my name is Camila and I will be
  presenting my work about Trash Pollution in the
  ocean. My class and I are studying about the
  ocean and we are all studying different topics.
  We are connecting it to the central idea The
  ocean is a vital resource whose ecological
  balance is affected by man..I hope that you
  like my presentation!!!

Why are people affecting the ocean?

• People are affecting the ocean by
• Polluting
• Throwing trash
• Dumping sewage
• And not wanting to help clean it

Why is the ocean important?

• The ocean is important because
• Because it gives us needs
• Because it is a place were you can have a lot of
  fun
• Surfers wont surf any more

Who is helping the animals so they can not be in
danger? (like extinction)

• Well a lot of people are helping them
  like, Orca Rescate by helping them live in
  different ways and not letting them suffer
  because sometimes people want them as pets, they
  sometimes take penguins away from the ocean but
  Orca Rescate helps the penguins and much more
  animals too!!!
• Pro-Delphinus is helping the turtles by
  putting them some pieces of metal in their arms
  and giving some information like the telephone
  numbers so they can contact the owners
  (pro-Delphinus) so they could rescue them, fix
  the metals and send them free to the sea/ocean
  again!!!

In what time or day did this problem started?

• I know this is not a modern problem
  because since humans were alive they started
  polluting almost everything!!!, I do not agree in
  some things that humans say because for example
  they say that humans are the most intelligent
  thing in the world but we are not because we are
  being totally dumb by destroying our own
  environment!!!

Where is this most happening? (in Peru)

• Well Lima is the most polluted place in
  Peru (of the beach) just because of its enormous
  population. Costa Verde is the most polluted
  beach in Lima and Mrs. Duffield told us that
  Macaja was the most polluted one.

Why do people want to throw trash to their own
ocean?

• People really dont do this on purpose
  unless they are mean and want to destroy their
  own environment. Sometimes people do this because
  they think that only one piece of trash will not
  pollute the entire ocean! But if all people think
  this and every body does this the ocean WILL be
  too polluted!

Do you know about a of animals that are dying
because of pollution?

• I dont know the exact because it is hard
  to say, but it is really sad to say that almost
  every sea animal in the ocean has a problem
  because of what we make pollution!!!!, and yes
  some animals ARE dying!!!

Do people die because of pollution?

• When people go to swim or surf to the
  ocean they can swallow a bit of ocean water, and
  that water has sewage, trash and some salt!!!
  Well people can have deseases because of that and
  in some big problems like if you have try it 10
  times you might even die!!!

Can animals extinct because of pollution?

• Maybe you have found in the internet some
  photos of animals covered in oil or maybe tangled
  in plastics, if they are covered in oil they will
  not be able to fly or even move so they can not
  get their food. And if you find some tangled in
  plastics they can be hanged!!!, yes they can die
  and extinct!

Why cant people just dump their trash to another
place?

• People, sometimes dump their trash to
  another lands but somehow that will pollute the
  sea. In some countries they burry their trash and
  it doesnt go to the ocean! I think that it is a
  great idea to do not pollute the ocean!!!

Who are the people that dump their sewage in the
ocean?
Actually ALL people throw trash to the ocean,
if you have never throwed trash to the ocean
anyway your sewage is there!!!, Almost every
bodys sewage is located in the ocean, unless you
do not have a toilet!

How can Lima/Peru help? Lima can
make marine treatment plants They can make one
that would throw the trash 10 kilometers off the
shore. They can also make one that will absorb
every thing inside the pipes (sewage, trash) and
will clean it, that would be use full to drink,
to water grass lands, or to throw it back to the
ocean! Another way to solve this problem is by
not throwing any type of trash or sewage to the
ocean!
