The Study Island theme for our lab begins in
the hallway with wind charms, leis, shells, etc.
suspended from the ceiling. The bulletin board
in the hallway that contains class assignments
and time slots in the lab adds to the island
atmosphere. The door to the lab is decorated
with colorful tropical fish cutouts.

As one enters the room, he is greeted by a huge
shark hanging from the ceiling in one corner of
the room. Bright colorful motivational banners
line the walls. Leis, hanging baskets, wind
chimes, potted plants, and shells add color and
atmosphere to the room.

The items to decorate the lab were donated by
students and teachersthe decorations have
continued to grow as the school year continues.
Any and all items are incorporated into the décor
of Study Island. Our goal was ,and continues
to be, to give ownership of the lab to the
middle school students.
