Definition

• A computer is a device that accepts input,
  processes data, and produces output.
• A computer is actually part of a computer
  system.
• At the most basic level a computer only
  understands machine language or binary language.
  Binary is a two digit numbering system.

Computer basics

• Hardware
• The electric, electronic, and mechanical devices
  used for processing data.
• Peripheral device
• The equipment that is outside of or in addition
  to a computer and that is used with the computer.
• Software
• The instructions and associated data, stored in
  electronic format, that direct the computer to
  accomplish a task.

• The CPU or Central Processing unit is the most
  important piece of hardware. It is the brains of
