2Why join a union?
Introduction to the RFU
Welcome Why join a union?
- First they came for the Communists but I was not
a Communist so I did not speak out. - Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade
Unionists but I was not one of them, so I did not
speak out. - Then they came for the Jews but I was not Jewish
so I did not speak out. And when they came for
me, there was no one left to speak out for me. - Martin Niemoeller

Introduction to the RFU
We also believe that the partnership approach is
likely to lead to longer-lasting agreements and
stability. The power of argument is more powerful
in the longer run than the argument of power.

8A political
Introduction to the RFU
The RFU are an independent trade union under the
Trade Union Labour Relations Act 1974 (see copy
of certificate here). We have no political
affiliation and therefore all monies from union
subscription are ploughed back into maintaining a
first class service which protects our members
24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year thus
providing excellent value for money.
