Seeds

• Every seed is a tiny plant.
• Seeds contain a short-term food supply.
• Seeds can spread and form new plants.

Roots

• The roots of a plant are underground.
• The roots help get water and food from the soil
  to help plants grow.
• The roots also help to hold the plant in place.

Stems

• The stems are above the ground.
• The stems act like a straw. It carries water
  from the roots to the rest of the plants.
• Stems often have leaves.

Leaves

• The leaves of a plant grow from the stem.
• The leaves make food for the plant.
• The leaves can be many different shapes.
