3Hypothesis
Daylighting is inadequate in the building during
summer months
Inadequate Quantitatively Not in compliance with
the IESNA standards Qualitatively Response Survey
4Methodology
- 1. Make a grid to locate the positions of the
light meter - 2. Take the readings at the workplane level with
and without electric lighting - 3. Compare the readings with the IESNA standards
for quantitative analysis - 4. Conduct a Survey of the occupants for
qualitative analysis

15Conclusion
Based on the results of the data collection and
the survey conducted we conclude that lighting
levels are adequate with just daylight. The
lighting levels in the corridor are adequate with
daylight alone and motion sensors is not a good
idea for this space.
16Limitations
The time at which the measurements were taken
exterior conditions were overcast. The study is
based on a single day data. The sample size of
the survey is not representative of a large
population. N3
