BIO-PHYSICAL CONCEPTS
  • Eucariotic cell is sorrounded by a lipidic
    bi-layer which separate the aqueous place of the
    cell (citosol) from the outer keeping the
    maintenance of the biochemical and
    electro-physiological paramethers (omeostasis)
  • This double lipidic bi-layer is constituted by
    phospholipids, cholesterol and its esthers and
    Polynsathurated Fatty Acids which permit to
    maintaine the cell membrane fluidity

    proteins with different functions like receptors,
    hydrophilic channels, biochemical signal
    transduction and electrochemical trans-membrane

  • Through the lipidic cell membrane the molecules
    can diffuse according to strictly defined
    biochemical conditions and electro-physiological
    gradients
  • Pore proteins embedded in the bi-layers have
    the function to permit the passage of small
    hydrophilic molecules and ions through the
    lipidic membrane that couldnt be crossed
    otherwise
  • This pore proteins or hydrophilic channels
