Title: Precision Plant Systems, Inc'
1Precision Plant Systems, Inc. Agricultural
Resource Optimization Systems 10/04/07
2Vision To enable the highest crop quality and
yields with the most efficient use of financial
and natural resources. To enable real-time
research into new optimized growth management
regimens. Mission Develop a simple, hand-held
system and species/variety specific data base for
measuring leaf nitrogen, chlorophyll and water
content. Develop the accompanying knowledge-base
and software applications for timely,
cost-effective crop management. Description our
PDA-based portable meter can instantaneously
determine the nitrogen, chlorophyll and water
content of leaves by a simple, non-destructive
optical scan.  It is equipped with a GPS system
to tag the location of the readings, and software
to analyze the contents in relation to industry
standards, display the results in standard
laboratory units, and map the results for
precision agricultural use.  The system has value
with all horticultural, agronomic and forest
crops with leaves larger than 1/3 inch across.
3- Precision Plant Systems, inc.
- Â
- PPSI is licensing an agricultural sensing/system
technology from Oregon State University and
commercializing it. The professor who invented
it, as well as one of his top graduate students
are members of the PPSI team.  -
- This revolutionary new tool will enable growers
to achieve optimal plant health, crop quality and
yield with the most efficient use of natural and
financial resources. - Â
- Our initial executive Team is
- Â
- Larry Plotkin (President) - ex-HP technology
management, Past President BEC Board (technology
incubator). - Dave Persohn (CFO/CMO)Â - ex-HP Finance/Marketing,

in the next 12 months in the engineering,
software, sales, and manufacturing professions.
4Business Overview
The need Growers need the real-time ability to
cost effectively determine the nitrogen,
chlorophyll and water content of their crops and
the most effective course of action. The
determination of plant nitrogen, chlorophyll and
water content has been an expensive and slow
process such that the testing results are
sometimes moot by the time they are
available. The solution A rugged handheld
meter that instantly and non-destructively
determines Chlorophyll, Nitrogen and Water
content gives immediate critical actionable
information to the grower. This capability
coupled GPS tagging for each reading and a
species/variety-specific knowledge-base enables
the generation of a health map of the growers
crop and enables an customized fertilization and
watering and harvesting plan for their cultivar
and soil. This capability replaces the slow and
expensive practice of mailing leaf samples to
laboratories, satellite imaging, over-flying and
oversimplifying chlorophyll meters currently in
use.
5Business Overview (cont.)
Business potential The meter will be sold to
growers, extension agents, researchers,
agri-businesses, farmers, nurseries, plant
tenders, etc. It will enable them to produce
higher yields with less fertilizer and
contamination of the environment. The meter
hardware is a high value-added piece of equipment
and the cultivar database is one of our key
unique advantages. Customers will receive
several cultivars with their purchase and can
download others from our extensive database for
additional cost. Our patented sensing technology
and unique, growing database, along with our
relationships with academia and agricultural
associations will give us a competitive advantage
and barrier to entry.
