Yangshan Port Project
Shanghai will spend twenty years to make Yangshan
become an excellent port. The first phase will be
completed in 2005.

Yangshan port - Scheme Statistics

• Whole project expected to finish in year 2020 -
• more than 30 deep water berths, annual
  throughput at 13 million teu.
• First phase will be finished in year 2005 - is
  composed of four parts
• Yangshan deep sea port area -
• Land area 1.7 sq km.
• 5 deep water berths of 15 metres, annual
  throughput at 2.2 million teu
• Luyang sea bridge -
• 31 kms long, 31.5 metres wide, connecting
  Yangshan port and Luchao terminal
• Luchao new city -
• area 90 sq km, population 300 thousand.
• Designed to have functions of logistics,
  warehousing, shipping exchange, finance and
  commerce service, recreational facilities etc.
• Hulu express highway -
• 43 kms long, connecting Shanghai outer ring road
  and Luyang sea bridge.

• Decrease duty (Especially on industry
  merchandise such as cars, light industry
  commodity and so on). Duty of garment will be
  decreased form 22 to 17.
• Reduce average duties from 15 to 10 gradually
  till 2005.
• Decrease or remove non-tariff barriers, such as
  import license, import visa and so on.
• Eliminate import quota of all 400 kinds of
  commodities.
• Especially on automobile accessories and textile.
• Open the market of bank, insurance, tourism and
  telecom gradually.
