- College Cost Reduction and Access Act (CCRAA),
Pub.L. 110-84 - Enacted September 27, 2007
- Established TEACH Grant Program effective 2008-09
- TEACH Grant Program
- Provides up to 4,000 a year
- Students who plan on becoming teachers and meet
certain additional requirements - Requires repayment as Direct Unsubsidized Loan if
specified teaching requirement is not met

Filers Who Answered Yes - When you completed your FAFSA, you responded
'YES' to the question about your plans to take

teacher. We asked this question because there is
a new federal student aid program for students
who plan on becoming teachers. You should go to
www.teachgrant.ed.gov to learn more and find out
what steps you must take to be considered for the
program. If you cannot access the website, you
should call 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243).

16Agreement To Serve (ATS)
- Students must complete and sign ATS to receive
TEACH Grant funds - ATS will include
- Teaching Service obligation
- Circumstances that will result in TEACH Grant
being converted to a loan - Terms and conditions of repayment, if applicable
- ATS will only be available in electronic format

accessible with Federal Student Aid PIN - ATS Web site will have its own URL (not the same
as Direct Loan MPN Web Site) - ATS Web site will include a TEACH Grant Fact Sheet

20Award Disbursement Processing
- Anticipated disbursements must be submitted with
the award origination - COD will generate TEACH Grant Disclosure
Statement for student - School has option to require origination before
COD accepts ATS - ATS must be accepted by COD for actual
disbursement acceptance - No POP (Potential Overaward Process) but will
have Multiple Reporting Record (MRR) for
concurrent enrollment - No option for automatic correction process

21Award Disbursement Processing
- COD provides/adjusts CFL upon acceptance of
actual disbursement records - ATS accepted for applicable year
- No earlier than 7 days before disbursement date
- Fund available for drawdown in G5 (formerly GAPS)
beginning July 1, 2008 - G5 Award Number P379T09xxxx
- Funding data available on G5 and COD Web sites

maximums across schools within an award year - Awards that convert to Direct Unsubsidized Loans

25Maintaining the Award
- TEACH Grants will be uniquely identified and
tracked within Federal Student Aid systems - Once COD has accepted ATS, accepted origination
record and accepted actual disbursement record
for the initial disbursement, TEACH Grant award
is sent to Direct Loan Servicing - After Direct Loan Servicing receives TEACH Grant
from COD student receives Welcome Letter - Direct Loan Servicing will pass TEACH Grant data
to NSLDS - Beginning in Fall 2008, Direct Loan Servicing
will generate quarterly TEACH Grant statement for
student
