doctor treated patients in her own home. Amity

not be available in the rural area. The medicines
are cheaper so that patients can afford them.

was not previously available.

money to poor rural women to start small
businesses and become the bread winners of their
families. The loan program gives woman power
respect.
16Amity does HIV-AIDS prevention in areas where
drug use is high, such as in Lingcang, Yunnan
province.

victims. AIDS victims work for Amity in AIDS
prevention work.

bottled water to the earthquake victims.

winter coat to every villager.

it ferments and creates biogas .

mountainous areas.

villagers had to walk five miles to get water.

mountain runoff water.
33Amity builds water reservoirs to store water in
dry rural areas.
34In dry areas, Amity shows villagers how to
capture and store water in underground cisterns
so that it will not evaporate in the dry season.
This village now has water all year long.
35Storage of water allows farmers to irrigate their
fields to grow crops in the dry season and in
very dry areas.
36Amity provides the knowledge and materials
to rural villagers to build irrigation ditches.
37The irrigation projects bring water to fields
that were previously too dry to grow crops.
38Farmers in dry rural areas can now grow more
crops.
39Rural farmers can grow crops in the dry season
have more food to feed their family to sell.
40Amity shows farmers how to build hot houses to
keep in moisture for growing vegetables in the
dry season.
41Villagers are very appreciative of everything
Amity has done for them and greet Amity
staff with clapping and singing.

has done in their villages, and put on a dance
program for Amity guests.
43Amity supports Henan Province orphaned children
whose parents died of HIV/AIDS.
44This orphaned child has been supported by Amity
for several years.

help and has warm clothes for winter.
