New developments at ASTRID

• New beamline for UV Circular Dichroism has been
  commissioned.
• Slow electron extraction (up to 150.000 e/s) at
  any energy from 100 to 580 MeV for CERN detector
  tests.
• Improved machine diagnostics MTBF 23 days

Other activities

• Via Danfysik (Siemens) we have lately
  participated in the design and commissioning of
• The 100MeV microtron for the PTB Metrology Light
  Source in Berlin 2006 - 7
• The Particle Therapy installation in Marburg and
  Kiel 2007 - ?

ASTRID2 application

• Århus University has applied for 5.5 M under the
  national program Establishment of major
  national research infrastructures
• The 5.5 M will cover a new storage ring,
  necessary upgrades to ASTRID and relocation of
  beam lines.
• Buildings are not included.
• 2007 ASTRID2 application was not successful
• (3M were given to Danish participation in the
  XFEL project in Hamburg.)
• Revised application submitted in 2008.
• We have received a very positive evaluation.
• Decision before Christmas 2008.
