  • Status New purpose statement drafted.
  • To facilitate partnerships and establish
    coordinating structures to plan and implement an
    integrated human services delivery system which
    meets the needs and priorities of the community.

  • Obtain Alliance validation or modification of
    measures
  • Status Scheduled for January meeting of the
    Alliance.
  • Identify internal partners (IT, PIO, and HR have
    already offered assistance in specific areas)
  • Status IT and PIO have been identified as
    partners. Staff have met with IT regarding
    development of websites.

  • Complete the plan for restructuring Social
    Services staff by the BCC December retreat
  • Status We are exploring options to transfer or
    divest direct services and are considering two
    alternative structures.
  • Role of SCAT (social service or transportation
    alternative)
  • Status This issue should be a point of
    discussion/consideration with the transportation
    strategic initiative team.

FOLLOW-UP ITEMS
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for its support
    on personnel issues as Social Services staff is
    restructured
  • Status We will work with HR staff as the plan
    evolves.
  • Develop a measure of the extent to which agencies
    funded by the Grants-in-Aid Program are meeting
    the outcome measures included in their contracts
  • Status A measure has been developed and
    tracked on an annual basis for FY2001. Staff
    have completed meetings with all 52 funded
    agencies to finalize outcome measures for
    programs. Measures will be tracked quarterly for
    FY2002.

  • Determine how each business center and strategic
    initiative team can be linked to the SCOPE
    process
  • Status This should be an OpX issue for
    discussion. The issue is whether SCOPE relates
    to each business center individually or through
    the OpX process.

  • Delineate and strengthen the linkage with
    criminal justice, including potential internal
    realignment of staff
  • Status We recognize the need to strengthen
    this linkage, and it is part of the restructuring
    plan. We will utilize a team approach to develop
    the criminal justice plan assigned by the Board
    at the December 4 retreat.

  • Assess the impact of pending state budget cuts in
    human services
  • Status Will be done as soon as legislature
    completes its session. This item is on the
    Alliance agenda in December to discuss a
    community-wide response.

FOLLOW-UP ITEMS
  • Continue education efforts with the BCC so that
    they are prepared for changes.
  • Status Transformation plan is on the BCC
    agenda on January 22, 2002. Individual
    commissioners will be provided with information
    packets and will have the opportunity to discuss
    with staff prior to Board action.
  • Develop a clearly understandable public
    information document
  • Status Will be completed following BCC
    approval of transformation plan. This will
    include web sites mentioned previously and other
    documents.
