God is Omnipresent
  • Everywhere, all the time!

Omnipresence
  • There is not any place in all of creation where
    God does not exist.
  • God does not have size or spatial dimensions and
is present at every point of space with His whole
being, yet God acts differently in different
    places.
  • - Dr. Wayne Grudem

God is free of limitations
  • See 1 Kings 826-27 (pg. 366)
  • Thus says the LORD Heaven is my throne, and
the earth is my footstool what is the house that
you would build for me, and what is the place of
my rest? All these things my hand has made, and
so all these things came to be, declares the
    Lord, (Isaiah 661-2, ESV).
  • The woman said to him, Sir, I perceive you are a
prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain,
but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where
people ought to worship. Jesus said to her,
Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when
neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will
you worship the Father, (John 419-21, ESV).

6
God is with us.
  • See Psalm 1397-12 (pg. 662)
  • Am I a God at hand, declares the LORD, and not a
God afar off? Can a man hide himself in secret
places so that I cannot see him? Declares the
LORD. Can a man hide himself in secret places so
that I cannot see him? Declares the LORD. Do I
not fill heaven and earth? Declares the LORD,
    (Jeremiah 2323-24, ESV).
  • In Him we live and move and have our being,
    (Acts 1728, ESV).
  • The fool says in his heart, There is no God,
    (Psalm 141a, ESV).

7
God can be present to
  • To punish see Amos 91-4, (pg. 978)
  • To sustain - And he is before all things, and in
him all things hold together, (Colossians 117,
    ESV).
  • To bless - You make known to me the path of
life in your presence there is fullness of joy
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore,
    (Psalm 1611, ESV).
  • See Colossians 29-15, (pg. 1252)

God can be present to
  • Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the
Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in
you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of
Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is
in you, although the body is dead because of sin,
the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If
the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead
dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from
the dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you,
    (Romans 88-11, ESV).

9
God can be present to
  • Now the Lord is Spirit, and where the Spirit of
the Lord is, there is freedom, (2 Corinthians
    317, ESV).
  • Behold, the LORDs hand is not shortened, that
is cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot
hear but your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God, and your sins have
hidden his face from you so that he does not
    hear, (Isaiah 592, ESV).

10
If we believe God is with us.
  • It should impact our conduct.
  • It should bring encouragement
