Partner in leading international Projects, f.i.,
ALMA Europe(ESO), North America, East
Asia. Participating in the EU funded research
since FP5 (6 projects). In FP6 13 projects. In
FP7, beside continuation of some important FP6
projects, ESO looks to new possible fields of
cooperation, such as ICT based e-Infrastructures
proposals in the Capacities program (3 proposals
submitted) and the Marie Curie scheme. Among
the submitted ones, EVALSO proposal aims to
create a physical infrastructure (and the tools
to exploit it) to efficiently connect the ESO and
the OCA Observatories to Europe.
The infrastructure will use the
international infrastructures created in the last
years with the EC support (RedCLARA, GEANT) to
provide European Research a competitive edge
having faster access to the collected data and
use the facilities in an ever more efficient
way
