  • The Hale Street Link is an important cross-river
    connection between the suburbs of Milton and
    South Brisbane
  • A cross-river connection that services above
    suburbs
  • Hale Street supports developments planned in
    Montague Road, access to the Cultural precinct,
    Southbank and improves access into the western
    gateway of the City
  • About 300m long
  • Open 2010 - Traffic 35,000 in 2026

The way forward
  • Engineering options to resolve pedestrian
    (covered walkway), cycle and traffic movement
    issues
  • Community and key stakeholder consultation
  • IAS and Business Case interim findings in April
    2006.
  • A decision will then be made by Council whether
    to proceed or not.
  • A Draft IAS would likely be issued in mid 2006.
    Following a consultation period the Final IAS
    would then be subject to Councils decision to
    approve.
  • If approved construction commences in 2007.

  • Brisbane is growing rapidly and is constrained by
    its current infrastructure

    and social well-being
