Accessing statistical data for social science
an ESDS workshop
Wednesday 31 May 2006Birkbeck College Library
This half-day workshop jointly organised by ESDS
and the Birkbeck College Library will provide
participants with the opportunity to explore how
archived data sources held by ESDS can be used in
research, teaching and learning.
Resources include

• large-scale government surveys, such as the
  General Household Survey and the Labour Force
  Survey
• academic surveys
• qualitative in-depth interviews
• international macro databanks produced by
  intergovernmental organisations such as the World
  Bank, International Monetary Fund and the United
  Nations.

Hands-on exercises will allow participants to
explore ESDS online data access systems.
