Mission Statement
Canby Elementary School believes in the dignity
and self-worth of each child and will provide a
safe, caring, learning environment in which all
will be given the opportunity for a quality

• Children need all school workers. A person is
  not just a janitor, not just a custodian.
  Janitors can see children when teachers dont
  see them, and the bus drivers recognize that
  children who are disruptive on the bus are likely
  to be disorderly in the classroom. Theyre
  partners in education. We need each other to
  make this work.

  can see some things that teachers cant see. So
  that means we should not run in the hall and do
  wrong to others.

• This quote means to me that all teachers
  or a particular teacher that believes in you and
  wants you to keep going, you should not stop,
  even though youve had enough. If you stop and
  dont continue your dreams and goals will not
  come true, in order for that to happen, you need
  to believe in yourself. If you do this, your
  goals youve been wanting and the dreams that you
  wish for, they will all come true. Sometimes that
  little push or words of encouragement from a
  teacher can make it happen.
