Major Programs and Goals
Implement Water Plan 2050 the Utilitys Long
Range Integrated Planning Guide
  • The Plan was developed using a Scenario Planning
method which recognizes uncertainty and maximizes
flexibility in resource, capital improvement, and
    operational planning.
  • Goals of Water Plan 2050 include
  • Increase the use of renewable water supplies
through expansion of the Clearwater project into
southern Avra Valley and extension of the
reclaimed water system to serve new golf courses
and numerous schools, parks and other irrigated
    facilities.
  • Investigate new renewable resources, including
potable reuse of effluent supplies and
    importation of additional surface water.
  • Identify and implement strategies to increase
    water conservation. The Community Conservation
Task Force will be bringing forth its
recommendations to Mayor and Council by mid-2006.
  • Involve customers and governing bodies in all
decisions through significant public outreach and
    interaction.
