  • To investigate 1 governing body on the internet
    and write a report on it.

Sports Organisations.
  • Q What are sports organisations?
  • A These are also known as sports councils
  • They aid in the organisation of sports
  • They have much to do with coaching and doping
    control
  • They represent the UK on the international scene
    and bring big sports events to the UK.
  • Support athletes at all stages in their career.

  • The best example to give is SPORT ENGLAND
  • Their mission statement is more people, more
    places, more medals
  • Q What do you think this statement means?

Sport England
  • They have the means to do this because they are
    funded by the national lottery.
  • They can fund events to get young people involved
    and interested in sport.
  • They can fund more places to improve their
    facilities and increase the amount of sports
    centres.
  • They can fund athletes at the top level to
    achieve the highest standard.

Governing Bodies.

  • A Every sport has one and they are responsible
    for
  • Enforcing the rules of the sport.
  • Organizing local and national comps
  • Selecting teams for international comps
  • Settling disputes within the sport (drugs)

  • Manage coaches, referees and umpires
