Title: NPM
1 Youth have something to say ..are we listening?
BACKGROUND The Maine Title V CSHCN Program was
one of only three states to receive MCHB grant
funding under the Healthy Ready to Work
initiative (Phase I II 1997-2005). According
to the NS-CSHCN, nationally only 6.3 of YSHCN
receive the services they require to make a
successful transition to adulthood (2001). Maine
was the only state with enough information to
reliably report on this measure with 14.9 of
families reporting that their youth receive the
necessary services to transition. There is more
work to do, to ensure that youth have a voice in
their health care decisions and in shaping and
creating health policies.
