information

2002-Present Individual Student Tracking Through
the Student Information Management System
  • Connected directly to state funding (2003
    Foundation budget)
  • Connected directly to state academic
    accountability systems (2003 for AYP)
  • Used to pre-populate student labels for MCAS
    (2005 eliminating the need to fill in 7.1 million
    bubbles for names alone.) Thats 12,000 hours of
    bubbling.
  • Loaded into the Electronic Data Warehouse (2007)

Building a market for student data
  • All state assessment files and SIMS electronic
    data files are accessible to educators working to
    improve student education
  • Privately developed software funded by the state
    has been available since 2001 to help manage
    electronic data files
  • Beginning in 2005 all official assessment results
    have been released electronically (no paper other
    that parent reports)
  • Beginning in 2010 all confidential assessment
    results will be released through the state
    Electonic Data Warehouse
