This is the Centennial State, Its capital is
Denver. I will remember this name because my Mom
was a huge fan of John Denver, and we used to
listen to it all the time in the car. Since my
Mom is not with us anymore, I like to think about
the fun times singing to his music, and I

Iowa is the Hawkeye state, its capital is Des
Moines, although this is a hard capital to
remember, I will think of its capital because my

Friend from camp, Liz Desmoine was from Iowa
until she moved to Massachusetts. Whenever we had
nothing to do, she would continuously talk about
her old life in Iowa, and it would drive us
crazy! How could I forget 50 hours worth of
blabbing about Iowa?

Maine...
Maine is the Pine Tree State, its capital is
Augusta. I will remember this because one of my
favorite childhood book was Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory. One of the characters in the
book was Augustus Gloop. I always thought this
was funny name, and very catchy, so it would be
stuck in my head for the whole day. Right after
the first time I read that book, I always looked
at Maine and thought of Augusta.

Nevada...
Nevada is the Silver State, its capital is
Carson City. I will remember this because on MTV,
many things are filmed in Los Vegas, which is
also located in Nevada. Carson Daly is the host
of TRL on MTV which I watch everyday.

West Virginia is the Mountain State, and its
capital is Charleston. I can remember this name
because I always think of a Charleston Chew candy
bar when I see it. There is a large U.S. map in
my room, and I have hung a Charleston Chew
wrapper over the state.
