Problem Statement

• Develop hotel management software for use by
  small to medium sized property
• Software package must allow for
• Fast Check-ins and Reservations
• Quick Retrieval of Guest Information/History
• Simple Billing/Accounting System
• Software is not for use by large properties,
  therefore software should not contain any
  functions which would cause any slowness,
  confusion, or inefficiency for the end user

Requirements

• Must allow customer to have an expedited check-in
  and check-out
• Must require the minimum amount of information to
  perform each task
• Must be intuitive and easy to use to allow the
  customer to get in and out as quickly as possible

Task Statement

• Software package consists of a VB.NET user
  interface linked to an Access database
• VB.NET interface will retrieve and process guest
  information and store it into an Access database

• Allows for a customer to check-in to the hotel
• If the customer made a reservation, his
  information can be retrieved by entering his name
• If not, all information is entered and a room is
  assigned

  check-out traffic and housekeeping activity
