Seed Dispersal
Some seeds have hooks on them, they come from
teasels. Sometimes they hook onto animals such
as sheep. When this happens the seeds might start
to grow into a plant, this plant is called a
teasel .
9Seed Dispersal
Back to section index
- Eventually the seeds will drop off and they may
if in the right conditions begin to grow forming
a new plant.
10SEED EXPULSION
- Seed expulsion
- What happens when a seed pod explodes?
- (This happens to poppies.)
11Expulsion
When some plants get old they explode and let out
some of their seeds, this process is called
EXPULSION! When the plants explode, the seeds
plant themselves and start a new life. One day
those seeds will turn into plants and explode as
well.
12This is my interpretation of seed expulsion
13Water Travellers

- Some seeds get blown off the adult plant into
the sea, rivers or lakes. - The seeds are carried to other countries or
islands. - When the seed finds land it will grow into a
