    entire Funding Rules, Instructions to Applicants
    and Funding Agreement before a Proposal is
    submitted to the ARC.

Appointment Process
  • appointment process for ARC grants
  • For salaried staff and stipends normal ANU
    appointment process
  • For salaried staff/ stipends named in application
    and fellows direct appointment
  • For ARC Fellows commencing in 2006
  • Local HR liaises directly to Central HR through
    the normal appointment mechanisms
  • Documentation to be provided by Local HR
  • Copy of application
  • Copy of ARC letter of award
  • Copy of the Agreement with the Collaborating
    Organisation (formerly known as Industry
    Partner). Linkage Projects only
  • Copy of RO-AC2. Acceptance of ARC/ NHMRC Grants
    Commencing in 2006 form
  • Copy of RO-AC3 Fellowship Acceptance form

Important Conditions of Grants for HR
  • ARC Funding Rules for the year the project
    relates to
  • ARC Funding Agreements (contracts)
  • Clause 7 use of funding scope of application and
    broad budget
  • clause 8 use of funding for salaries and teaching
    relief
  • Clause 8.7. Appointing normal recruitment
    procedures
  • Clause 8.8 Conditions for salaried staff
    institutions except
  • Clause 8.10 Employed full-time on grant accept no
    remuneration whatsoever without prior approval
    (clash with 52 rule)
  • Clause 12 commencement date DP 31 July LP 30 June
  • Clause13 deferred commencement DP 31 October
    latest subject to ARC approval
  • Clause 13 and 14 changes to specified personnel
    in writing and subject to ARC approval
  • Clause 15 (DP) 16 (LP) Transfer of Project or
    Fellowship

  • Schedule B remuneration of Fellows and relocation
    allowances
  • schedule D (DP) or E (LP) fellowship entitlements
    requirements and conditions
  • D1-4 (DP) salary and shortfalls
  • D5 relocation
  • D6 promotion of professorial fellows to next step
    ARC will only pay form approval
  • D7 conditions of employments for fellows (only)
  • Conditions of employment institutions
  • Maternity leave
  • Additional remuneration
  • D7..6 new 12 months leave or part-time equivalent
    for parenting
  • Used to be 12 months leave in accordance with
    institutions practices

  • Clause 28 reporting requirements
  • D9 suspensions of fellowships (only)
  • In 2nd year and no longer then 6 months
    institutions
  • In 1st year of more then 6 months ARC approval
  • D10 relinquishment
  • D11 change of Fellow is loss of funding

    (usually at the college level)
