3Perkins Reporting byAward Year Loans
- Separate reporting of Perkins Loans required with
loans made for any payment period that is part of
the 2008-09 award year. - Loans must be submitted as separate distinct.
- Loans for prior award years may be reported as
they have in the past (bundled as one or separate
for each award year).

- Report academic level at time of first
disbursement of loan for award year. - Undergraduate - Grade Levels 1 through 5
- Graduate/Professional Levels A, B, C, D, or G
- Changes in the following DPI fields
- Amount of Loan (Field Code 261)
- Amount of Disbursement (Field Code 267)
- Date of First Disbursement (Field Code 225)
- Student Academic Level (Field Code 270)
- Amount of Outstanding Principal Balance (Field

some elements are duplicative or unnecessary

elements from current reporting standards (e.g.,
assignment, NSLDS reporting) and new data
elements that cover a wide range of data (e.g.,
claims, reinsurance, assignment, collections) to
meet Federal Student Aids business needs. - Approved data elements 98

18Phase II Communications Plan to the FFEL
Community
- A Communication Sub-Committee was responsible for
developing and approving a monthly update to the
FFEL community. - Updates on project progress are provided through
a link on the Financial Partners Portal
(http//www.fp.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/fp/FFELDataSta
ndProj.jsp). - NCHELP, NASFAA and COHEAO provide the monthly
communication to their respective listservs. - A dedicated email address (DataStrategy_at_ed.gov)
has been established for community comments and
questions.

FSA Enterprise Data Management Team working with
the PESC CCB to update XML Registry and
Repository with proposed standards changes and
new data elements. Expected to be complete by
9/30/2009
