simulated contagious disease through the classroom

You will receive

• Tube containing body solution
• Empty tube
• Disposable pipet
• Marker
• Piece of paper

What To Do

• Write on the piece of paperYOUR NAMEPartner

What To Do

• Label the two tubes with your initials on the top.

What To Do

• Divide the solution evenly between the two tubes.
• One of these tubes is the non-sharing tube.
  Place it in the rack and DO NOT OPEN IT AGAIN
  UNTIL THE END OF THE EXERCISE!

• The other tube is your sharing tube.
• Find another student to exchange bodily fluids
  with. Pick someone across the room. Write their
  name under Partner 1 on your paper.

• Combine solutions into one tube, mix, then divide
  into two equal volumes.

• At the instructors signal, find a different
  student to exchange your sharing solution with.
• Write this persons name under Partner 2 on
  your paper.

• On the instructors signal, repeat the exchange
  one additional time with a new partner.

• Now the instructor will come around and develop
  your sharing tube to tell if you are infected.
