What is a CIC?

• Unique 4 digit Carrier Identification Code
• Assigned by NANPA
• Used as a PIC code
• Routes traffic from the originating service
  provider (LEC) to the long distance provider
  (IXC)
• TNCIs assigned CIC is 6398

What will TNCI use CIC for?

• New customers with Equal Access lines
• Existing customers will be migrated to the CIC
• Exceptions
• Multi-location validated account code customers
• ANIs with account codes longer than 5 digits
• Sprint program customers
• SDS lines
• Accounts in collections block status
• PaeTec and MCI DIDs
• Other TNCI approved exceptions

Where is CIC 6398 active?

• CIC 6398 cannot be used in Alaska, Hawaii, or
  other offshore locations
• 18 additional LATAs remain to be deployed

Highlights

• No more migrations with PIC changes once CIC 6398
  is fully deployed
• Ease of doing business just one PIC
• No more split PIC provisioning
• With CIC, TNCI assumes responsibility for CARE
  which should mean faster PIC confirmations

• Tier, Everywhere, and Sprint Program rates will
  still be available
• Services can still be provisioned on CIC 0333 for
  those who choose the Sprint Program
• All forms will remain the same
• No change to commission or NBB
