Spectacle Island, Boston Harbor, Mass.

• Placement of 4 million cubic yards of excavated
  urban soils and dredged spoils that were
  transported by barge to the island.
• Placed 600,000 tons of armor stone riprap to
  provide for erosion protection along much of the
  island's shoreline.
• Constructed a pre-cast concrete pile supported
  supply pier and seawall on the west side of the
  island.
• Bentonite cut-off wall along the west beach and
  an impervious final cover over the entire island
  to enclose waste fill and underlying municipal
  refuse.
• Approx. cost 264,000,000
