Experiment

• Late August ad-hoc experiment between ATCA
  (single antenna and Mopra)
• Using SIS receiver
• Using a few hours of green time
• Observed continuum calibrator 1921-293 and SiO
  maser oCeti at 86 GHz
• Linear polarisations rotated by 45º, so loss of
  sensitivity
• Correlated using Swinburne software correlator

Results

• Strong detection to o Ceti
• High residual fringe rate (40mHz phase wrap
  every 20sec)
• No fringes to 1921-293
• Sensitivity?

3mm VLBI?

• 3mm VLBI is not offered as standard VLBI
  frequency
• Need to do fringe test on new Mopra receiver
• Should have better VLBI performance
• Anyone interested in 3mm VLBI should contact
  Tasso or Chris
• Low sensitivity and single baseline!!!
