ABSENCES
  • State law requires that parents and guardians
    are responsible for their childrens school
    attendance.
  • Please try and make appointments before or
    after school hours.
  • When a child is absent...
  • call office before 900 am
  • send a Dr.s note after 2 consecutive days

BIRTHDAYS
  • Treats should be arranged with teacher
    ahead of time
  • No invitations passed out at school unless
    the whole class or all of the same sex
    are invited

BUS CONDUCT
The driver is in charge of the students and the
bus.
  • Sit quietly
  • Keep windows closed
  • Keep feet off seats
  • Stay seated until bus stops
  • Dont throw objects
  • Dont wave arms or object from windows
  • Dont use profanity
  • Dont litter

CONTAGIOUS DISEASES
  • Examples are chicken pox, pink eye,
    ringworm, impetigo, and strep throat
  • Students should not be in school
  • Contact the building principal regarding
    school attendance
  • Students with head lice will not be allowed
    in school without a permit from the
    County Health Nurse

DAMAGED SCHOOL PROPERTY
  • Students are responsible for books and
    equipment
  • Reimbursement will be required for any
    damages

  • Teacher is responsible for maintaining good
    discipline
  • Minor Offense - handled by teacher and
    student
  • Major Offense - handled by principal,
    teacher, student and call to parents

DRESS
  • Disruptive clothing is not acceptable
  • Tennis shoes required for PE days
  • Snowboots for snowy/muddy days
  • Caps should not be worn in buildings

EARLY DISMISSAL
  • 145 pm on noted Wednesdays
  • Make prior arrangements for student pick-up

  • Band - 5th Grade
  • Class Size Reduction - 1st-3rd Grade
  • Counseling - K-5th Grade
  • Reading Recovery - 1st Grade
  • Special Education - Pre-K-5th Grade

FIELD TRIPS
  • Signed parental permission slip on record
  • Participation not allowed without slip

HOMEWORK
  • Varies with grade level and subject
    involved
  • Consult with teacher if problem arises

LOST AND FOUND
  • Found items should be turned into the office
  • Mark all belongings with permanent marker
  • Check lost and found regularly

LUNCHROOM
  • Breakfast is served from 745-815
  • Good manners should be used at all times

MEDICATION
  • Medication will not be given without
    written request
  • Release form must be filled out prior to
    distribution (pick-up at office)

  • Two scheduled each school year
  • Special appointments may be made

  • Halloween, Christmas Valentines Day
  • Small monetary amount provided by each
    student

  • Students will not be excused from class
    to receive or make calls
  • Messages will be relayed to students

VISITATION
  • Make arrangements in advance
  • Check in at office upon arrival
  • Visiting friends and relatives not
    permitted

  • Late Starts
  • Closing

  • Buses will not operate out of town
  • Rural students will stay in town at
    pre-arranged location
