  support projects of other nonprofit organisations
  or to carry out these projects independently.

• Who is Zumat?
• Zumat is the Zululand Mission Air Transport and
  was established in 1975.
• -is a Christian Mission Organisation dedicated
  to bringing health care to the rural areas of the
  KwaZulu Natal Province through aviation. This
  area is on the east side of South Africa on the
  Indian Ocean and borders Mozambique and Swaziland
  to the North.
• -Zumat serves the communities and health
  workers, transports doctors, workers, patients
  and emergency cases between hospitals and to
  larger medical centers as far south as Durban.

The TaskIts all about people!

• Like so many parts of Africa, HIV-AIDS and
  tuberculosis has affected this area as well. The
  hospitals carry out programs in order to diagnose
  and treat the diseases as quickly as possible. .
  This takes place through the collection of
  laboratory samples which are collected in the
  clinics and are delivered to the hospitals to be
  examined. The treatment is determined by the
  results of these samples. Subsequent tests
  indicate whether or not the treatment is
  effective, or whether an alternative must be
  initiated.

The ChallengeIts all about people!

• The laboratory samples are infectious, and the
  time between the actual sample-taking and the
  testing in the laboratory is limited. The
  landrovers are not allowed to travel the
  shortcuts through the Game Parks. The long trips
  over rugged roads increase the chance that the
  results from the samples are not accurate.
  Therefore, the quick and smooth transport of
  these samples is extremely important.
• The costs of delivering the samples (approx. 10
  kg) with a normal fixed wing aircraft are very
  high.

The SolutionIts all about people!

• The RAF 2000 Gyrocopter has the following
  characteristics, which make it an ideal means of
  transport for the laboratory samples
• -two seats one Pilot plus 100 kg or one
  passenger
• -100 120 kph . It requires 50 to 100 meters
  for takeoff and can land on the spot.
• -The gyrocopter burns 16 18 liters per hour,
  and the operating costs are approximately 1 Euro
  per kilometer.

  live!
