  • Student must maintain SAP in his or her course of
    study
  • School must establish, publish, and apply
    standards for measuring whether student is
    maintaining SAP
  • SAP standards must be same as or stricter than
    standards for non-Title IV aid recipients

  • Schools SAP standards must include
  • Qualitative component, consisting of grades, work
    completed, etc.
  • Quantitative component, consisting of maximum
    time frame in which student must complete his or
    her educational program

  • Maximum time frame for undergraduate programs may
    not exceed 150 of published program length
  • Time frame must be divided into increments not to
    exceed lesser of one academic year or half of
    published program length
  • Policy must include schedule of work showing
    amount of work student must successfully complete
    at end of each increment
  • Each students progress must be assessed at end
    of each increment

  • SAP standards must be consistently applied to all
    students within categories of students
  • SAP policy must include
  • Specific policies defining effect of such courses
    as repetitions, remedial courses, incompletes,
    withdrawals, etc.
  • Specific appeal procedures
  • Specific procedures for student to re-establish
    SAP

  • For programs over two academic years in length,
    at end of second year, student must have
  • C average or its equivalent or
  • Academic standing consistent with schools
    graduation requirements

  • Policy must provide appeal procedures
  • School may waive or redefine progress standards
    due to mitigating circumstances
  • School defines mitigating circumstances
