NOTES Mochovce NPPs, Unit 1 and 2 Within
the years 1997 up to 1999 at the same time with
completion of the EMO 1, 2 also the project
Safety issues for EMO 1, 2 was realized.
Starting point for this project was the agency
document IAEA-EBP-WWER-03 Safety Issues and
Their Ranking for WWER-440 Model 213 Nuclear
Power Plants. In the field of IC the
original Deris system, which didn't have any
operational records, was replaced by the IC
systems supplied by fy Siemens. For the safety
and safety related IC systems the Teleperm C
system together with EDM technology were
applied. For plant operational systems
was used mostly the Iskamatic B and for process
computer system Madam-S. Also the In-core
measurement system Hindukush was replaced by
a new system of advanced technology. This is
a Russian supply. Bohunice NPPs, V-1
During the years from 1997 till 2000 in The
project of gradual reconstruction NPPs V-1 for
the first time computer based Teleperm XS system
was applied in the safety IC systems. The
units of NPPs V-1 have been the first Russian
designed reactors equipped with digital
instrumentation for reactor protection.
In the new integrated reactor protection system
the following functions were implemented
reactor trip system, ESFAS, including ex-core
neutron flux measurement and also reactor
(power) limitation system. Some systems
have been replaced by new systems, e.g. PAMS,
in-core measurement, radiological monitoring and
some plant automatics. For automatics of primary
circuit are used Iskamatic B and Simatic S5.
Unit 1 will be stopped in 31. 12. 2006 (!) and
Unit 2 in 31. 12. 2008 (political decision) .

Bohunice NPPs, V-2 At these days
Programme of modernization and safety improvement
of NPPs V-2 is performed. Also this programme
comes out from the above mentioned agency
document Safety Issues and Their Ranking for
WWER-440 Model 213 Nuclear Power Plants. This
Programme of modernization is divided into
a great number of stages and tasks of
modernization. In the frame of this
programme upgrading and replacement of the IC
systems is scheduled for years 2004 to 2008
during extended refueling outages. Related to IC
systems the most significant is the task R2
Safety systems, installation of new RTS and
ESFAS systems. The new IC systems important to
safety are based on Teleperm XS technology from
Framatome ANP Areva (former Siemens). For
reactor (power) control system is planed the
Simatic S7. Also some systems will be
replaced by new systems, e.g. PAMS, in-core
measurement and some plant automatics.
