- He may be the great-great-grandson of the good
king, Hezekiah. - Written during the reign of Josiah (640 608
B.C.).

- The day of the Lord is at hand.
Be silent in the presence of the Lord God for
the day of the Lord is at handThe great day of
the Lord is near it is near and hastens
quickly - Zeph. 17, 14
4Is the day of the Lord coming with respect to
the world today?
But concerning the times and seasons, brethren,
you have no need that I should write to you. For
you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the
Lord so comes as a thief in the night. - 1
Thessalonians 51-2
5But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in
the night, in which the heavens will pass away
with a great noise, and the elements will melt
with fervent
heat both the earth and the works that are in it
will be burned up. Therefore, since all these
things will be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
looking for and hastening the coming of the day
of God? - 2 Peter 310-12

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and
distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a
day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds
and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and
alarm - Zeph. 115-16

- Even Judah will fall.
I will stretch out My hand against Judah, and
against all the inhabitants of JerusalemAnd it
shall come to pass at that time that I will
search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men
who are settled in complacency -

- A call for repentance goes forth.
Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, who
have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness,
seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden
in the day of the Lords anger.

9Does God call for us to repent today?
Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let
everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of you sins and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. -

10There were some present at that season some who

had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus

these Galileans were worse sinners than all other
Galileans, because they suffered such things? I
tell you, no but unless you repent you will all
