HOW DOES THEIEE PROGRAMME WORK?

• The current IEE programme runs from 2003-06
• It co-finances projects, which support the
  programme objectives
• Applications are submitted following annual Calls
  for Proposals
• Successful proposers conclude grant agreements
  with the IEEA
• The usual co-financing rate is 50

ECOHEATCOOL

• 14 Partners, 32 countries
• Objective
• communicate that district heating and cooling,
  can expand further in an extended EU
• Approach
• Analyse heating and cooling demands in Europe
• Determine possibilities for district heating and
  cooling
• Provide a tool to assess the efficiency of
  district heating systems
• Highlight the impact of more district heating and
  cooling on European policy objectives
• Recommend strategies for more sustainable heat
  and cold supply

COGEN CHALLENGE
A European information campaign to demonstrate
that small-scale cogeneration is feasible,
reliable and adaptable to the needs of many users
Expected results

• 6 regional small-scalecogeneration facilitators
• Workshops, seminars,training of the trainers,

• Fact sheets, brochures, best practices, contact
  lists, calculation tools
• Showcase of 1,000 projects on www.cogen-challenge.
