• Objectives
• Raise general awareness about sustainable
  transport
• Encourage people to choose other transport
  means instead of car, specially walking

Results

• Target was to involve 200 pupils from 15 schools,
  
• 4870 pupils from 42 schools and
• officials from 3 city governments

• Calculated savings of 21 schools
• 9186 car kilometres saved
• 2571, 36 kg CO2 emissions reduced
• 11 673 EEK money saved from car fuel

• 9 schools turned to their local authorities

• Set up zebra crossings
• Limit traffic speed near the schools
• Renovate pavements
• Improve lightening
• Organise campaigns for the drivers

Follow up

• The participants attitude regarding sustainable
  transport has been inquired in the end of the
  project
• 40 out of 69 are willing to use public transport
  or bicycle instead of car in the future
• 54 pupils out of 69 are willing to have small and
  economic car
• 41 pupils out of 72 are willing to use train
  instead of plane if possible
• 59 pupils out of 68 are willing to buy local
  goods because of short transport journey
