- Physical Fitness Assessment
- A school district annually shall assess the
physical fitness of students in grades 3-12. A
school district is not required to assess a
student for whom the assessment instrument is
inappropriate due to the result of disability or
other condition identified by commissioner rule.

- Fitnessgram is a comprehensive fitness program
for school aged children and youth. - It consists of
- a health-related fitness assessment
- a computerized reporting program
- educational materials for teachers

- To increase the probability that youth will adopt
regular physical activity habits and maintain
adequate levels of physical fitness to contribute

The FITNESSGRAM report prints out an
individualized report that evaluates a childs
personal level of fitness compared against the
established health standard, the Healthy Fitness
Zone. Children can take these home to parents.

- Student scores should not be used to evaluate
individual students in physical education
(grading) - Student scores on fitness assessments should not
be used to evaluate teacher effectiveness - Students scores should not be used as a sole
measure to evaluate overall physical education
quality
