  • A lot of the Occupational therapy in Denmark is
    CBR.
  • Clients are not necessary occupational deprived
    persons.

The Danish health system
  • 2 sectors the primary health care and the
    hospital sector.
  • Hospital sector deals with medical conditions
    which require more specialised treatment,
    equipment and intensive care.

Municipalities Primary sector
  • Denmark is divided into municipalities.
  • Manage economy, schools, environment, health and
    welfare work.
  • All municipalities in Denmark are working within
    the same frames and laws.
  • Financed through taxes.
  • Few private practicing OTs.

  • OTs work in the clients home.

  • Knows the community very well.

    politics.
  • 1/3 of the population in the age 3 29 years are
    members of at least one union.
  • Based on volunteer work.
  • Takes place in the local community.

How OTs can use unions?
  • Helps clients find a suitable union.
  • Helps inform the union about a citizens special
    needs in order to be able to participate.
  • Rehabilitating purposes - motivation and
    skill-training.
