• A lot of the Occupational therapy in Denmark is
  CBR.
• Clients are not necessary occupational deprived
  persons.

The Danish health system

• 2 sectors the primary health care and the
  hospital sector.
• Hospital sector deals with medical conditions
  which require more specialised treatment,
  equipment and intensive care.

Municipalities Primary sector

• Denmark is divided into municipalities.
• Manage economy, schools, environment, health and
  welfare work.
• All municipalities in Denmark are working within
  the same frames and laws.
• Financed through taxes.
• Few private practicing OTs.

The local OT

• The municipal OT is the same as the local OT.
• The local OT is a public offer.
• How to approach the OT?
• Professionally broad field of activity.

The local OTs work

• OTs work in the clients home.
• Interviews, ADL-training and hand over and adjust
  aids.
• Finding activities outside the clients home.
• Knows the community very well.

Unions

• Based on interests e.g. football, learn a new
  language, drawing, religion, diseases or
  politics.
• 1/3 of the population in the age 3 29 years are
  members of at least one union.
• Based on volunteer work.
• Takes place in the local community.

How OTs can use unions?

• Helps clients find a suitable union.
• Helps inform the union about a citizens special
  needs in order to be able to participate.
• Rehabilitating purposes - motivation and
  skill-training.

• Structural changes in the public system.
• Possibilities to expand the use of CBR.
• Get better at using and starting private
  initiatives.
• Could learn from private practising OTs in
