• Be prepared to give a short and concise answer.
• If they want to find out more, they will ask you.

  seconds is
• - To get their attention and make them curious
• To respect the time of others.
• Especially if you are giving your presentation in
  a large networking group.

• (social, networking, interview.)
• We are going to concentrate on the networking
  format since that is the one we practice at most
  career groups.

• Say your first name, pause, then last.
• That way your name is distinct and clear.

• You want folks to understand what you do so they
  can help you if the opportunity arises.

• Many people start by saying my name is ... and
  I'm a (insert job title here).  However by
  listing a job title, that might limit you in the
  employers eyes, if they don't have a job with
  that title. 
• Some people prefer to say how I help companies in
  the beginning and maybe give a job title at the
  end when they repeat their name.

• Pretend you are talking to your next boss....(you
  may be!)
• Pretend you are talking to the next person who
  will forward your information to your next boss.

• The second most important item is your
  profession, tied with the help you need on a
  target company.

• You have to be comfortable with what you say and
  how you explain it to others.
• Catch phrases or slogans will help someone
  remember you.

• It gets people to want to help you.
• And the last thing you should say...

• Now it is time to practice, practice, practice.
• WHY???
• Practice so you can feel comfortable enough look
  them in the eye, be aware of your surroundings
  and be able to smile while talking.
• Dont forget to exchange business cards.
