United Way of Central Oklahoma Fast Facts
  • Historical United Way of Central Oklahoma was
  • formed by volunteers in 1924. It currently
  • serves 67 partner agencies in Oklahoma
  • County and six surrounding counties.
  • Successful United Way of Central Oklahoma raised
    14,232,000 in 2002.
  • Local Helps 67 local health and human service
    charities.
  • Accountable All funds are audited by Grant
    Thornton, LLP
  • Efficient Overhead is just 13.5, which is among
    the lowest in the country for non-profits.
  • Thorough A strategic plan guides the work of
    volunteers and staff.
  • Essential One out of three central Oklahomans
    are helped by a United Way agency each year.

Currently (2003) 19 OC Employees participate in
United Way through payroll deduction and give
an total of approximately 3,000 Approximately
20 more OC Employees participated In United Way
with one time gifts totaling approximately
1,400 For a total of approximately
4,400 If, Another 225 OC Employees gave an
average of Just 3.00 per month it would
add 8,100 Which would increase the total
to 12,500 Increase the average contribution
of these new contributors from 3.00/month to
5.00/month and the total increases
to 17,900
